Game panel
Change game version or server build
Switch versions from the Startup page and restart, with no reinstall.
Most games keep their version settings on the panel’s Startup page. Minecraft is one example: it has the game version and, for Paper, the build.
- Stop the server and make a backup.
- Open Startup and change the variable, for example
MINECRAFT_VERSIONtolatestor a specific version such as1.21.4. - Start the server. On boot it downloads the version you chose.
Downgrading an existing world is risky: older versions often can’t read a world saved by a newer one. Start a fresh world, or keep the backup handy.
Switching to a different server type
Some types can’t be switched from the Startup page, for example going from Paper to Forge. If yours can’t, open a ticket and say which type you want. Back up first, because the files differ between types.
